Equipment

All of the pictures on this website have been taken with Canon digital equipment. Most have been taken with a Canon digital SLR, set to require the minimum amount of post processing (editing) in an attempt to reproduce the original scene as accurately as possible. Some of the pictures have been taken with a Canon digital compact camera simply because the opportunity arose for a picture at a time when I wasn't specifically on a photo-shoot and carrying the digital SLR.

Post processing is kept to the minimum for the above reason and is carried out using Adobe Photoshop or JSC Paint Shop Pro. All of the images on this website are in JPEG format and have been optimised for downloading over the internet and for on-screen viewing. This means that their resolution is low at around 72 pixels or dots per inch. To make a print for hanging or framing a much higher resolution is necessary and then the post processing is completely different, being optimised for conventional chemical-based processing and printing, or high-resolution digital printing.

To produce prints from digital media I use conventional chemical-based processing on Kodak or Fuji paper, the maximum print size being 10 inches by 15 inches (250mm by 380mm) and the maximum poster size being 30 inches by 20 inches (760mm by 510mm).
